It seems like my car has lost low end torque and gained torque and power higher up (after 3500 rpm). I've heard this theorized before, has anyone else experience this?
I feel like I have to drive the crap out of my car now to get full power, although "full power" is now a lot more than before.

but is the powerloss worse than stock? or just worse than before you installed the TB? (assuming you just recently did the TB after all your other mods).

I had the same 'problem' on my old Toyota Supra turbo after installing a HKS 3" downpipe (attached to a 85mm exhaust, no cats)... Lost ~7ft/lbs of torque up to about 3000RPM, then gained more above 3800RPM through redline.
I think the reason is a lack of backpressure. The general rule is that bigger is better on turbo cars cuz the turbo itself creates enough backpressure, but on a small quick turbo, like the K03, I think that the exhaust can be opened up too much. You'll loose some low end torque but gain more on the top.
That's my theory anyway.

I just did the exhaust like 2 weeks ago. I've had the chip/filter/DV since 10/00. The car is still "faster than stock" down low, but not as fast as chipped w/stock exhaust.
Don't get me wrong here...3500 rpm and up and this thing SCREAMS, especially 2nd and 3rd gears. I think Revelate's theory is right.

You have the FM IIRC?
I do too and I feel the same way.
It's odd though that the dyno plots I've seen here seems to indicate gain in the low and mid range?
My car now feels so strong at the top end, compared to before FM.

Our theory is that you gain so much after 3500, that it seems that you loose torque down low, but the dynos prove that wrong. Peak torque is about the same at 2900, then right after that the 3" TB holds real strong but the stock goes waaay down, fast. Know what I mean?
