Plenty of oil, Im guessing I just need to change to a lighter weight oil.
Anyone ever experienced this problem?
Thanks

Re: 30v 2.8 Lifter tick on start up. Goes away after a few seconds. Thoughts? (Euro Skank)

Common as can be. Don't worry about it.

I had that... whatever you do, don't use lifter treatment. It made mine 10x worse. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Re: (toy_vw)

it's not the lifters, it's the timing chain tensioners. The tensioners are hydraulic, operate on oil pressure. As they wear the oil tends to leak out of them when the car is parked and it take a few second for them to get full tension again once the engine is started. They good news is this is common and pretty much harmless, unless the noise continues past the initial few seconds, at which point you might have a bad tensioner.
