Does anyone know if our cars fit into Stock class of Solo II in SCCA? TIA. Anyone else a regular at the Nassau Coliseum in NY?

Your car will definately fit into the stock class as long as you don't modify it too much. Get a copy of the rules to see exactly.
Mostly, for stock class you have to use wheels of the same diameter and width (with the 337 that's 18"x7.5"), stock springs, stock rear sway bar, any cat-back exhaust that meets any noise restriction the club has, and any intake filters (I think). Any shocks can be used as long as the stock ride height and springs are used. Front sway bar can be changed. No strut tower braces. No non-stock intake and exhaust manifolds. No chips! Any brake pads, but no changes in disks or calipers.
If you change any of the "not permitted" items this bumps you up to Street Prepared class unless you go into Street Touring class which I haven't learned the rules for yet. More suspension, tire/wheel sizes and engine modifications are allowed though.
By the way, the GTI 337 usually goes into the G Stock class.

Thanks for the info.
I went to Meadowlands on Sunday. Very hot, but lots of fun. They get a huge Porsche turnout, some know how to drive and some were worse than me. This was my first event, but the car felt great - not too much body roll, absolutely no sidewall flex at 40/34 pressures, but considerable heat-soak. I will return, I'm hooked. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

From what I've heard NASA is better (especially for FI cars) if you plan on doing mods. They do it by a point system in which points are added for each mod you do and then i suppose a handicap is formulated, instead of being bumped a whole class. This may help.http://www.nasanortheast.net/rules.shtml They also do it at the meadowlands pretty often so ya may want to check it out!

Haven't been to an autocross in a few years, but was thinking of taking the new ride out to one (what better place to find the low/medium speed limits of the car?)
As best I can tell the only class that allows FI engines is the street touring class. VW 1.8T cars are mentioned specificly in the definition of street touring, so I would guess that's the class for our cars.
I found this really good description of what's legal in street touring, if you're interested: http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rules/street_touring.html

I raced in G Stock at the last autox down here and did fairly well. The only cars that beat me were a pair of really well prepared (hoosiers, shocks, camber like nuts) Neons. It was a fairly tight technical track, I think at FedEx Field I'll be able to grab them.
I think the one factor that will hold these cars back in G Stock is the wheel/tire size.. 17s would be optimal and finding another wheel in 18x7.5 that is properly light and the money to buy a nice set of 18" (!) Hoosiers is gonna be a pain. I may race it one or two more times this season, but will usually stick to my Jetta and STS.
Then next year.... its time for the 337 to whoop up in SM!

Yep. Thats what it looks like. Hopefully 337's won't get an star next to it when they update it. The cars with the stars get 5 points added, I guess cause they are better prepared from the factory. Sound familiar?

For the remainder of this season and the slush series, your car will be classed in G-Stock, as it should be because it is the same engine as the 1.8t gti. I recommend running in Street Tire G Stock, as myself along with several other autocrossers have had very good success in that class. When search is back up, make sure you check out all the topics we have started about it.

As far as next season goes, only time will tell, as im sure some knucklehead in a TT will protest because our cars cost 10,000 less but outperform them, causing us to be reclassed.
