Hi, I am trying to help my brother out here who has a 1997 A4 quattro V-6. The local Audi dealer in Petoskey is charging $180.00 for a Front wheel bearing plus 2.5hrs of labor at 70 per hour. So $355 and some change for ONE bearing. I already know the wheel bearing is above list price but should it really take 2.5 hrs to replace? does anyone have a labor times manual that could let me know what it costs. I would change the bearing myself if I had a garage to do it in. Thanks a ton. Dave,

Re: $355 for wheel bearing? whats the labor time? (johndelorean)

All of the dealer jobs quoted (to my knowlege) are pre-determined..
I'm surprised they didn't want to change BOTH bearings..
Becuase if one goes bad, the other won't be long.
Figure pull off the wheel, remove the hub, press out the old bearing, install the hub, install the wheel, align the car...Maybe the price for labor was for both bearings, and not just one., and included the price of an allignment
