I got into a small rub accident (my fault) at my school in which I had geo metro paint down the side of my car

I got some 3M adhesive remover and the stuff cut through that paint like a hot knife through butter w/o damaging my paint

The only downside is that I have scratches that resulted from the rub and parts of my clear coat have been knicked off
. I tried carnuba wax and scratch remover on the scratches, but to no help. What can I do?

Re: 3m adhesive remover works wonders:) (Gaki)

There is a way, but it's a bit dangerous. This will be a two part test, so...First, go find a place that sells 3M products. Buy a bottle of 3M Fine-Cut rubbing compound. Try using this by hand to see if your scratches will come out. If it doesn't, then you got to move on to the dangerous part. Buy some 2000 grit wetsanding sandpaper. Wash the area you are going to wetsand thouroughly so it is sparkling clean. Wrap the wetsanding sandpaper around a wet sponge. Take a hose and hold it so it is constantly running water over where you are going to wetsand. Gently sand the spot with the sandpaper. DO NOT DO TOO MUCH!!!! If you do you can easily sand off the clearcoat and then your fuxored.. Once the scratch is gone, dry it carefully, and use the 3M Fine-Cut rubbing compound to take out the wetsanding marks. You may have to do that step a couple of times. Follow up with a coat of wax. Hope this helps, and I take no responsibility if you screw your paint. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
