My Dad had a Subaru GL 4WD wagon and I'm pretty sure it was an '81 but it didn't have round headlights. Was this a model year change or did US-spec versions get stuck with round headlights?
The one thing I remember about that car was the "passing light" under the flip-up Subaru symbol in the grille. My friends and I thought it was so cool - even though we weren't sure what it did.
