hello ive fitted a 8v s3 steering wheel in my mates car, a3 8p highline from 2012 and everythings works except the mf buttons, i believe this is because the steering wheel is lin 2.0 and the car is lin 1.3. my question is, would i be able to put in a lin 2.0 controller or is that not possible?

IIRC you need the "lowline" buttons to make this work; however there may not be "lowline" enough buttons in the 8V cars to make this work. I think more commonly people were putting in wheels from B8 A4/S4s with more success due to the availability of them with the more basic buttons on the wheel.

I'd say trying to go with a newer steering wheel module or whatever with LIN 2.0 might work, but you also might need to do some custom flashing of modules to get this to work.
