This is regarding my 2.0l 8v engine. The oil light comes on around turns or when the car is bobbly whenever there is an rpm above 3k. The oil level is not low. The vc gasket is not leaking. I had a mechanic try to fix it but he replaced two oil sender thingeys and it is not fixed. I REALLY wanna make sure my engine is not going to blow up so I can ignore this light. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the engine that is allowing oil to slosh around enough to do this or am i alright?

Thanks much,
Andy

have you tried heavier weight oil? I heard somthing about that being a problem with A2s. My 87 Jetta had that poroblem about the light only going on in the corners, then up and down hills and finally all the time. that is when I grounded the circuit so now it never lights up http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I did that with a Dasher once and the motor melted on the highway...It was great to see the motor decompose before my very eyes....Disconnecting the oil light wire worked for almost a year though...
