I'm either going to do the late 16V because of the width of the flare and fill in the cut-out or use standard fenders and widen the flares? I think that the late 16V would be easier, but price and availabilty may be the determining factors?

actually the only difference i flare width is the flares themselves, the fenders just have the 2 square holes and the lip cut back for tire clearance. so your better bet would be to buy the euro fenders and get the shaved marker for free for what u want to do, and then u can adapt the G60/late 16V flares to be used on them if thats even nessesary.

Can anyone confirm these as the correct part numbers? I ask because i tried punching them into vwparts.com and they don't come out. If you can't confirm these numbers, someone please check their 91 or 92 GTI 16v to verify this.

Those part #'s are correct. We can get you the real US spec 16V fenders with the flare cutout and the banana light for $105 each or we can get real european G60 GTI fenders with the flare cutout and no banana light for $200 each, but the wait to get them would be significant since they need to come from Germany.

check out http://www.c1vw.com they have them for like 45 a peice. the euro fenders that is. the only hole u would have to fill is the antenna hole in the driver side. so ur lookin at maybe 500 fenders and the flare kit.
