I have a 93 Passat that I just changed the thermastat, housing and front coolant pipe I put it all back together and it is leaking from where the long pipe that runs to the block and the therm housing meet up. any ideas? how many rubber rings go there? anything helps

It's one O-ring each side of the water distribution pipe,
probably it is not seated properly.
You might have to take everything apart again and re-do...

did I get it right?
it's leaking by the water pump, where the pipe comes to the block (on passanger side)
if I did get it right; when I had replaced my pipe with the metal one it dripped continuesly. I had to remove it and use gasket sealler to stop it all together. Remember to let it dry 24 hrs before you fill the engine back up with water.

Make sure to clean the inside surface and put vaseline on the oring before pushing together. Maybe you pushed it together dry?
