Re: 95 passat GLX: PCV breather valve (bdsxxx)

That is not available separately.
What you have to buy is this:

About $100 from http://www.vwparts.com. Much more from the dealer. Here's one solution if the hose connected to the valve cover is what's bad and not the casing itself. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1070868
A lot of guys have plugged the hole in the intake and rigged a glass bowl filter (air compressor water trap). That's not for me but to each his own I guess.

Re: 95 passat GLX: PCV breather valve (A2B4guy)

I was quoted about $275-325.
By a tech at Auburn VW. I'll tell you what he told me though. He said get a PCV tube off of a 91-92 VR6 because they don't have a PCV just a straight tube. Still retains the Heating Element though. I just did it to mine with just a piece of tubing on it. About a 1" diamiter tubing. Fits great and NONE of the nasty oil burning smell either. Hope this helps you. VERY VERY EASY.
Good luck!! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: 95 passat GLX: PCV breather valve (V-KLAN)

SO what you are saying is just bypass the valve and it runs always open by replacing it with a "hose". \\
Sounds like a plan.
I also checked the link back two posts. sounds like another good plan and I still get to use my original part.
Thanks

Yeah my PCV valve ended up cracking in half unfixable. I heared how much the piece was and was like what the....
!!! But I ended up fixing it for free just found a piece of hose that is big enough to fit over the Heating element and a hose clamp. Took the PCV Vavle off and all is Good now. Most Important though NO nasty oil smell....like the breather filters give you.
