i have a 90 gli with a 1.8l engine trying to run on motronic (long story). The throttle body that is on the engine looks like it is from a auto passat. it has a tps connecter and the other connector for the limit switches. My question is do I have to have the TPS plugged in for the switches to work properly? My car is a manual and has no connector from the harness to plug into the TPS on the throttle body. Only one connector that goes into the faded yellow connector (assuming its for the limit switches). any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you have the passat throttle body. One connector goes to the switches (WOT), the other goes to the TPS. You should be able to plug in to the connector going to the switches if thats what you want. You don't have to be plugged into them both. The TPS will just be along for the ride.
