Well, I went to ED Schmidt VW today and drove a 3 door Golf GL in indigo/black with an auto. I really liked the car, it had pleanty of spunk for me ( hit 95 on the highway with NO problem!) Has anyone here dealt with Ed Schmidt VW before? Are they a good dealer to go to? Also, the Golf I drove had a final assembly point of Brazil, are Brazilian Golfs good quality as a general rule?

As a general rule, (and I'll get flamed to hell for this) cars built in Germany, brazil, or mexico have the same issues as any other. No point of manufacture has proven to be more reliable or less reliable than any other.

Thank you, I need all of the honest answers I can get. Since I will be getting a GL, does that mean that since I'll have crank windows I can also put the idea of bad window regulators out of my mind?
