I have a ticking but its like a grinding tick, I don't think it's an oil change. My friend believes that the water pump may be going.. Could that tick actually be the water pump?? It's not a bottom end knock.. if i rev the engine the tick speeds up and slows down with the revs...AHHH please help me !!!

edit: since this post first ran I have done an oil change.. and same knock..
+ the car is totally stock and the motor has 150k on it..

perhaps it's time for a new set of lifters. Or you could buy a mechanics stethescope for like 10 bucks at autozone and pinpoint the noise and go from there. It sounds dumb but they really do work and it was cheap as hell http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

What did the oil look like? Was it shinny? That is a sure sign of a bad rod bearing.

nah when I changed the oil it was a normal black noting came out I ran a home made skimmer thru it and nothing came about..
