OK so I just purchased an 05 GLI and the guy gave me an extra carpeting cover for the apillar boost gauge because the first one is sun faded...really bad. I pulled oped the pillar last night just toying with it and was not sure where that first clip was located. should I just pull outward on it until that clip comes out??? I used the search tool and could not find a DIY on it or anything but the previous owner did say there was one on the vortex. I read up on the 42DD site about it but I was hoping for some pics of how to do it properly.

when i did mine i just pulled real hard and it popped off.... no airbag to worry about though for me.... just be careful when you do it, it'll be a pain (thats why they call it the bitch clip) but it will eventually come off

Took mine off today, just pull but not too hard it will pop, I believe there is 3 clips.
Going to reupholster it my 42DD unit.
