A1 exhaust system sound test/ comparison wanted....

463 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  theYellowRabbit
does anyone know if something like this has ever been done and where to find it? by a magazine or some other source? (european car magazine had an article recently testing exhausts for the 1.8T, stuff like: Decibels at idle, Decibels under load and etc.)
I'm just looking for something to compare A1 performance exhaust sound levels, and looking for the least loud without going back to stock, currently have TT dual downpipe, TT high flow cat, resonator, 2" cat back, with Dynomax super Turbo II muffler...
any help would be great. thanks.

ummm... http://www.scirocco16v.com had a bunch of sound and video clips on this IIRC... granted it'll be a lil different but it'll give you an idea...

I've had this link for a few years and never posted it. It hasn't been updated since I first saw it but it is still kind of a cool site

thanks both of you for the response... the 16v site is nice, I read the page, I just have to listen to the sound files next.... that may give me some ideas....
thanks also for the venom motorsports site, I wish they still had those sound files up on that page...
anyone know of any other exhaust info?

rabbits are loud. even with stock exhaust. if you want it to be quiet, get a 2 liter and stock exhaust.
