Yes I know its an old topic but the search isn't working.
Got Recaros in my 89 jetta and would like to know what it will take to
put it in my C. Remember reading that they a higher and the rails are different. Also will I be able to put the seat heaters in the Recaros it a fabric seat.

the rails are the same (both A2 chassis cars...) they will slide right in but you are correct, they will probably be too high.

Yeah way too high. The headrest will almost touch the headliner.

You can simply modify the brackets by cutting them down and rewelding them. Its really not too difficult. We put a set in my friend's 1979 BMW 2002 using the same method.
