A2 TDI vs A2 VR6

I'm planning on doing a TDI swap into my A2 Jetta. The problem is, this swap is not done too often and information on it is hard to come by. On the other hand, lots of people do VR6 swaps, so there is quite a bit of information on it available.
I plan to get a wrecked TDI [not sure if it should be a jetta or a passat...any suggestions?] and use it in combination with an old A2 Diesel for parts [I'll need the fuel tank etc, as the A2 thats getting the engine is Gas]
My question is, how similar are the two swaps [A2 VR6 vs A2 TDI]?

I paul
This swap is quite easy. I would suggest the mk3 jetta TDI as a donor. Take the fuel tank (it fit bolt on). take the wiring from the mk3 jetta. You will also need the pedal assembly. because the TDI is drive by wire. take the brake booster and master at the same time. because your brake booster will not fit the new pedal assembly.
Any other question feel free to ask

Dah... that's nothing.
Other things are:
jump between d8 & e2 in fuse box for mk3 cluster power
jump or plug clutch pedal swith
bypass alarm system red with red/white. plug them together.
there is also a little bit of welding on the mk3 pedal assembly to fit the mk2 steering column, nothing hard.
