Hi to all on the BB, My truoble is that I wish to fit the A3 dails (rev,speedo, feul and temp) in to my mk2 dash. I know the speedo will become a electronic sensor setup but will the A3 dails fit in the existing squarish standard housing or would I have to use the entire A3 housing of the dails?????
Anyone tried this swap before, I've seen the A3 dails in a standard A2 dail housing looks cool but the temp and feul gauges are cut by about 1/4 along the corner edges of the housing. Any ideas will be appreciated.

You can use the unmodified A2 bezel I have seen it done in two cars. The area behind the bezel might have to be modded but not too much. Dave

dave is right, one of the ones that he has seen is in sister's golf. You just kinda stick it behind the a2 bezel and secure it in place so that it does not move around. It is a tad bit bigger, but looks and works fine. Don't waste the time fabricating stuff, it will not work much better and if you want later (if you are unhappy with just shoving it back there) you can. Elcetronic speedo is better anyways....I HATE that damn cable!

I'm also interested, I have an A3 tranny in my 87 GLI with the speed sensor still on it. I'm also going to fit an A3 dash with A2 switches (no CE) Could I separate the speedo wiring from an A3? Or is this another CE only deal?
