I was wondering if i can use that 12v poweroutlet joint to plug in a cheap basslink/bazooka amp/sub combo. Anyone know what gauge is the wire leading to the power outlet back there? I really dont feel like running wire from the battery again (a little traumatized from my previous vehicle, a chevy blazer)
[EDIT] forgot about the caraudio forum, move this there plz

you could do that but i'm sure power is always running to that, hence your sub would be on with the car off. besides, running good gauge wire is the best for sound anyways. i used to be totally into car stereo, and lemme tell ya, going from 8 to like 4 or even 0 gauage wire, you can hear the difference.

hell no. dont even think about it. I think its fused at 10 amps. which means at most you could run a 120 watt amp. But considering that the bass you get depends on how much power you can get through that wire I would never hook up an amp to it. Don't be lazy steez, you can run a rear fog at the same time. its not that tough

Prolly an alright place for this, not much traffic in car audio unfortunately.

Anyhow, I have no help to offer, since the previous owner of my car ran power cable before i bought it.
