Adding some subs in the back...

392 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  -=VdubGuY=-
OK, I have a 2001 GTI with the 6 disk mosoon system. When I looked back there, there seems to be all the wires I need to hook up another amp ( I didnt look to closely) Should I run new wires or could I split off the wires going into to the amp. What is the easiest and best looking about of doing this? Any info would be appreciated. TIA

The only wire u need are the power wire. All amp should have its own power directly from the batt and fused of course.
Im assuming u want to use a level line converter to get the signal to the amp. If not and u plan to go with a new HU, u need to run signal RCA cables back.

So other than the constant power wire is it plug and play?
EDIT : will I need to get another wiring harness for the high level outputs? our should I just split them? And DETAIL information is appreciated, I am new to the A4's TIA

Anyone? DETAILED instructions on how to this would help. So far I know I have to run a new constant power wire for the amp, that is obvious. But what about the speaker inputs and the turn on switch? Can I just splice them from the CD changer? Could it be possible to get a harness that "y"s? You know go from one harness and make it two, so that this way I dont have to splice into the CD changer. TIA

Yeah, I cross posted this there also, that forum seems pretty slow though, so I figured I would try them both.
