A while ago I replaced the Monsoon headunit in my 2001.5 Passat with an Alpine 9857 but kept the factory Monsoon amp/x-over and speakers. Everything worked perfectly until the other day, when I replaced the car's battery as part of the car's routine maintenence. Now the Alpine HU powers up and appears to work normally (tuner, CD, iPod, Sat), but no sound comes out of the speakers. (No static, no popping -- absolutely nothing).
I suspect that disconnecting the battery leads to the car may have caused something w/ what's left of the Monsoon system to reset, or perhaps tripped some kind of anti-theft system, but I have no clue how to fix it.
Anyone encountered this problem?
