After Turn 2 Lower...

606 Views 10 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  vento 95 GL
Just put in my Turn 2 lower mount (2.0 L) and it is SO MUCH BETTER, HOLY COW! Clean shifts, and a little better high rev. Is the upper mount worth doing with a VR6, I have heard that can be done... any benefits?

ps-if you haven't done this, DO IT NOW.... I am a believer!

Aggie- I did my 2.0L with the VR rear upper and it works great!! Shifts are even better than just the lower front. You will pick up a slight vibration, but it's very slight. I guess it could be worse in your car, depends on how much it rattles now. I have had mine in the car for about 3k now and I haven't had a single problem. If you've got the funds, I'd say do it!!! Let me know if you've got any questions!!!

...and if you don't have the funds you could always do the NHL motor mount. Does the same thing but the longevity of the puck is undetermined, and you don't get the cool Turn2 or KCD name.
Switched my buds lower Turn2 with a Slovakian puck and he didn't even notice - until we told him.

Guys !!!!! the pucks will last very long!!! The shop near my house called Trac Racing is racing in speedvision's touring car series with a beetle and a jetta. They have been using hockey pucks as engine mounts. On one of his car, he has been using the same pucks for 6 years now without any signs of wear. so if it lasts in the harshness of racing, it will surely last on your street car!!!
I just installed a hockey puck for the lower front and put a vr6 rubber part on the upper because my stock one was shot!!! I used to have the pucks in the upper mount ,but took them out cause I could not take the vibrations anymore!!! The problem wasn't when I was driving, it was find , but when starting the car or idling!!
When I would start the car, all my dash would shake at startup. Most of my driving is in city so I could not take it anymore!!! Anyways now I like it very much , but I'm sure it will help even more if I change my back one.

Good to hear that you like it...because mine is on its way!!!!

A standard NHL puck is usually too small and can give you some slack. There's also dampening properties involved too.

Not for me !!!!!!! everything is nice and tight!!! remember I changed to a new upper vr6 rubber part so there is no slack!!!! I found out that the vr6 is stiffer than 2.0L and works great with the 2.0L
