who are some companies that make them.?

For the Jetta there are basically two choices: smoked and red/clear. Both are made by Hella. For you're black Jetta, I'd go with the smoked. Here are the red/clear on my car (more pics in my sig).

i just ordered a set of euro tails (like bora's) for my black jetta ... not a big fan of the smoked tail look personally, but it looks pretty nice on a black car

For Red (as with white) it depends on what you want.
For a little contrast: Red/Clear
For more contrast: smoked
Up to you how much attention you want.

they are so close to the stock tail lights, why bother dropping $500? am i missing something in your picture?

I hate to burst your bubble, but you can get these for less than 200. They have a white stripe at the bottom. They're a little too subtle for my taste and I think I'm gonna get in on the Hella smoked lights GB.

Without GB pricing, they were $180, not $500.

Also, if you take a look at the pictures of my car (both above and in my sig) I think it will become obvious why I chose these tails. They are different in a subtle way. A lot of the mods I've done to the car are fairly subtle individually, but the whole effect IMO is very nice.

No doubt Bora. You have a great looking car. The lights look great on a lighter colored car. But on black or red I think it might be overlooked. Looks great on white!

Thanks!!! Its taken a while to get it there, but its been worth it.
Mostly I chose the subtle route, because its the first car I've ever been interested in modding, so I didn't want to wind up going astray.
