for all those who estimated, or was'nt sure,if the AGU engine code
is AWW or AWD equivalent,
I emailed VW at Germany:
"...On your enquiry, we can inform you that the AGU-engine does not have the
variable cam timing gear.
Yours sincerely,
Volkswagen Customer Relations Wolfsburg"
so now it's official

damn...

Re: AGU => is officialy... (SpeedStick)

Knew that one all along, as the extra control solonids are not there.
UK 1.8T AGU engine
No always a bad thing, the UK Oettinger dealer specifically looked out for a late AGU as their demonstrator, less electronics to get in the way between the drivers foot and the engine performance. No ASR no DBW.
And they can always fit RaceLogic TC which is much better than ASR.

Wow, and I thought driving 300 miles to AWE was a long way to get chipped.

F... GIAC!!! I wanted a GIAC chip for my AGU and they said they didn't support AGU. I wanted their switchable software remote control, and the said they didn't offer it unless you bought their software. Whatever... I guess they have a preference for Singaporeans...

I have an AGU and a GIAC chip.
They support it, but not every reseller knows they do.
In fact, just one or two know about it.
Contact them directly (GIAC) and they will tell you who can help you.
For me, GIAC was very helpful and all... but many resellers left a lot to be desired.
Chip is amazing... after you pass all the trouble hehe....
