All old trans do this why???

2nd gear grind, need i say more? How to fix, easy/not easy, I'm doing a clutch soon shal i do it then? Or live with it. It's annoying as heck.

you need to rebuild the tranny to get rid of the grind. It happens mostly because 1st-2nd gear change occurs most, therefore the synchro gets the most wear.

some synthetic fluid (IE Redline) wouldnt hurt.
yeah, throw a bolt kit on your rebuild list too. All olds trans also like to chew on differntial rivets and spit them back out (NOT pretty)

I've got 198k on my tranny and have no grind. Try being a little bit easier and using synth gear lube

Mine does it whenit's cold.I think there is a way to fix this.Anyone knows what oil I should try using...?

Redline! MT-90 is safer for old trannies, MTL is a little thinner, which prolly means it'd work better, if it doesn't cause any problems.
