Alrighty, fess up! Who has tested drove a car with little intention of buying?

Ok, I know some people here have test drove a car with little or no intention of buying. Maybe just to drive the newest car, see how it does, or even just kill some time.
What did you drive?
I'll start, since I just truned 18

1996 GTi 2.0 at a used car lot
1997 240SX SE at a used car lot
Both wayyyy over priced.
Natty
EDIT - topic should say buying and not driving.

I've never test driven a car with little intention of driving it. :p Come on, man! You're 18! Think: Hmm... I'm young and like sporty cars, companies build cars just for me. Go test drive the following:
Mustang GT
Camaro SS
Sentra SE-R
Miata
MR-S Spyder

I often go to take a test drive and I get scared. So I have the salesman drive for me. So I to, test drive cars with little intention of driving.

I love test driving. "Yeah, I'm graduating this may and my parents keep mentioning a graduation gift of a new car! They want me to pick one out ahead of time...so, could I take a look at..."

I've had a lot of fun. But the guy at the Subaru dealer is onto me...he still won't let me drive a WRX

That's good, I'll remember that. I've tested so far:
2000 Camaro Z28 M6
2000 BMW 525i
2000 Audi A4 1.8T
Maybe someday I can actually afford to buy one of these...

Hell yeah! Here's some of the tastier beauties I drove with only $100 in the bank:
BMW 750il (PHAT!)
A Zillion Miatas (I'm a Miata guy)
BMW M3 and 535
Ferarri 250 GTO replica
Porsche 944
When we were younger we would borrow the nicest car we could find (usually a dad's car of some sort) and go to different car lots pretending that we were interested in a trade in. It's an AWESOME way to kill a Saturday afternoon. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Abusing a car you don't plan on buying is even more fun than abusing a rental. (BMW 750il does wicked doughnuts with traction control turned off)

i've bought cars without test driving..does that count?

actually i've never honestly done that.. i've rode with when people have done that, but i can't say as if i have ever driven on one without an intent to purchase/think about purchasing.

Good to know I am not the only one. I am just getting warmed up though. I'll go for bigger fish later.
I did figure one thing out so far. Drive my moms Honda and hint that I want to trade it in and wear very nice clothes. Both of these were at huge Automalls by the way. I used to drive go carts at the local put put on my hour long lunch breaks, now I think I may drive something a little nicer from time to time.

I usually reserve test drives for during the week, the weekend is when these guys make money and I'm not going to take them off the floor to go drive a car I have no intention of buying.
But my latest drive was a 996TT...didn't even go in to drive it, the salesguy saw the Viper and he complimented me on it and I said "its nice but I'm thinking about trading it for a Turbo 911." He said let me have your license, lets take one for a spin. My buddy stayed behind.

I used to that all the time when I lived in Nor Cal. I used to go to the Roseville auto mall and spend all day test driving cars, jeeps, you name it! I love driving new and used cars. There is no better way to get the feel of any car and make an honest and acurate comparison to similar models. Magazine reviews and forum topics can only do so much to give you an idea of what a car "feels" like. You learn more in 5 minutes of driving than any where else.
Oh yeah. As a bonus, I get to crush the annoying salesmens' hopes of selling me the car. Call me saddistic, I don't like those guys.

Let me borrow the Viper some time so I can do that.

I've only driven one or two cars without intent to buy. I feel too guilty about wasting people's time. The only ones I remember are an A2 Golf diesel (slow as hell, horrid shifter, but handled very nicely) and an old 12-valve MX-6 (nice car, but nothing special).

::stands up::
Me: Hi, my name's Harry
Group: Hi, Harry...
Me: I'm addicted to test-driving cars....

It's true...I've been doing this since I was about 19...glad you guys have been too...
Got some great stories out of it...how I scared the bejeezus out of a Subie salesman in a '99 2.5RS catching air over railroad tracks. Oldham's Subaru here in Lexington is still wary of my presence.
I've done just about everything that's come-out that's interesting..WRX's, Bimmer 3-series, Mazda P5's, Toyota MR2's, Linconln LS 5-speeds, SE-R Spec-V, Maxima SE 6-speed...it's like a sickness.
But hey, I figure I love cars, and I work my tail off every week--why not have some fun, and be better informed when my friends ask what they should buy.
Thing is, I always dread that moment when I find a car that's just great, that I'm absolutely in love with, even though I have no need of it. Then it stays on my mind, and I get a touch of the 'car fever'. So, there's the catch to test-driving for me...

Add another addict here

Lesse, in just the last year alone...
3 Honda Preludes
2 Civics
2 Integras
2 Saab 9-3s
1 Saab Viggen
1 BMW 325i
1 BMW 330i
1 BMW 323i
1 Passat Variant
1 Camaro SS 6M
1 Mustang GT
1 Audi A4 2.8
1 Audi 1.8T
1 Trans Am WS6
1 GTI 1.8T
1 GTI VR6
1 Jetta 1.8T
1 Jetta GLX
1 Jetta TDI
1 Accord
3 Maxima SEs
And there are probably others too.
Of course, just because I am not looking to buy doesn't mean I won't. My last two cars I purchased when I "wasn't intending to buy", so some saleman might get lucky. I am leaning very heavily towards VW for my wife's next car, so the next time I am not intending to buy, who knows...

I use to all the time but the "fever" is hard to get rid of. One time it got me and I brought home a Volvo wagon without talking to the wife about it. the last time I did that.....
