I know, "search". Been there, done that AND came back with a souvenier but no answers. I am looking to find which front bumper(s) will fit on my 83 Caddy. I would like to have a bumper with smaller end caps than what I currently have; something that doesn't wrap the fender and I might be able to add auxiliary/fog lights IN the bumper. I am new in the MK1 arena after ten years after owning my first MK4 so please share your knowledge. I am not looking to build a masterpiece but would like to improve what I have.

MK1's are like legos, you can bolt pretty much any MKI golf/jetta piece to it.
Also, put on some nomex, being from the mk4 world people might give you some grief here...

I say another one joins the darkside. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Retro Rabbit/ Eurocullen did a run of repops until recently...Haven't seen a new set for sale in a while.
"Small euro bumper", european market only, 1974-1977.

"Plastic euro bumper", european market only, 1978-83, South African Citi, 1984-1999 or so. These are getting rarer, but are usually more readily available, and cheaper. Easier to find without the chrome.

1988-93 Cabriolet "Clipper" kit. Comprises front and rear bumper, flares, skirts. Can be extended, expensively and time consumingly, for Caddy purposes.

"South African Citi Golf bumper". Good luck. Different front fenders, as well.

Re: (mk1collector)

Thanks for the input....I'm sure I want to go with a small bumper like the pic I posted. Maybe I couls use my existig bumper and replace the ends? I would by pass the extra light cutouts if I find smaller ends/caps....

Re: FV-QR (Chrom0sexual)

thanks for the insight. I did view some of their stuff and found a translated page. I was considering buying end caps for my existing bumper but maybe I need to rethink that idea. Soooooooooo, the search is still on. Do you know how available the end caps or the bumper with caps and light pockets?

Fixed. And also, there are -84 mk1's even here in Europe. They officially stopped making them at the end of -83 but some left over cars were made in early -84.

have u considered the mk2 big bumper that i mentioned earlier? they are more readily available... although not necessarily what you are looking for.
might want to get OEM bumps and cut them down to make them look good & push them in. that is a nice, easy fix to the issue... and is pretty cheap too.
