No performance difference. Stainless will last more than your car will so there's really no need unless you plan to keep your car for more than 5 years wich I doubt you will.

Biggest difference is how they hold up on salted roads. If you don't live on the beach nor have snow covered roads that need to be salted a decent grade aluminazed muffler will last a while. The Stainless just has less corrosive tendancies.

In northern climates, I have heard of aluminized systems rusting through in as little as 2 years. In southern climates, I have heard of aluminized systems lasting 10 years. It's all where you live.

"Aluminized" is NOT aluminum. It is mild steel coated with a corrosion inhibitor. The problem is when road debris chips the coating off, exposing mild steel, which is very susceptible to corrosion in the presence of water, air, and chlorides (salt).

Mild steel exaust systems allways rust out, even in Houston. IMO Buy SS or don't bother , my stock exhaust had a hole in the muffler with less than 12k miles on the car, no salt down here at all.

I thoght the stock exhaust was SS
