He means make sure you know this guy real well. The last thing you want to do is buy a car that looks really clean then you find out you paid 1500 for it and its got a cracked head gasket. Just because a car looks nice doesn't me it is running well. Have you seen him drive it around? Any little "quirks" with it? Quirks are almost always an idication something is wrong.
for $150, it wouldn't be worth putting $500 in rust repair right off the start. if those are fine, sounds like a good enough deal. seeing as how you can buy a complete motor/trans with wiring and ecu for like $200, you can't really go wrong provided the floors aren't falling out of it.:thumbup:
