So, I've had my GSW for about a month now. Last week I finally got around to upgrading the SD card. I had been limping along with just a 2GB card and streaming Spotify from my phone, but I really wanted to get my entire music collection into my card. So, I picked up a 256GB card and filled it up with my music. (About 22k files).

Things worked fine on the surface. I can go into library mode and go through my music to find what I want, or I can just randomize the whole thing. The problem I've run into is that if I leave the car for about a half hour or so, the playlist will "reset", playing the first song from the library no matter what I was playing previously. This isn't behavior I noticed when I was using the 2GB card. I'm wondering if there is anyone else who has had this issue and if there is anything I can do about it.

This happened to me a few times when the car was new and I suspected it was due to manually turning the MIB off. I was really getting sick of that same song playing every time. Now I just leave it alone and let the unit sleep when I exit the car. No resets of the playlist in 4 or 5 weeks.

Well, that's not it. I let it sleep as well. If I turn it back on then, it will resume. But, if I leave it for any period of time, it will reset.

Bummer. I use a 128gb card and have no issues at all.

Why is it, do you think, that others don't have this issue? You formatted or loaded the SD wrong perhaps?

I don't have the manual handy at the moment but I vaguely recall reading in it that there is a limit to the number of files and or size with the SD card. Check the manual. I have a 32 gb card with ~4000 files and it works fine.

It is 30k files. I'm still well below that.

Don't it seem odd to you that others don't have this issue? Would seem something you did wrong, not the systems' fault.

One thing I did seem to confirm today is that this only happens in Library mode. I switched to file mode last night and it continued fine this morning.

My working theory right now is that it might be one of the files on the card causing an issue. I'll have to investigate later.

That may explain my lack of problems then. My music is well-organized by artist/album so I just browse via my folder structure.
