Re: another DIY smoked fogs question... (RickMoraputi)

Most hobby shops carry this stuff. I believe that Testors is the brand of choice.

...not to mention, the paint will melt from the intense heat.
There is a reason noone here does that.

Do NOT use that spray tint stuff!!! It is garbage! I ruined my stock lenes with that, but I eneded up buying the Hella Smoked Lenses. My stock fogs are still white though, and I was thinking of trying a light coat of the Testors Model car paint? Any one have the code # for it?? http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: another DIY smoked fogs question... (VEEDUBJETTA)

the only way IMHO to fake the smoked fog look is with the vinyl mod. Go to a sign shop and get a 1' by 1' sheet of black vinyl and wrap it around the whole front of the lens then with a protractor and exacto knife, mark a circle and cut it out in the center of the fog. EUROVR6 did this on his former show winning ginster and I plan to do the same when I get the smoked dummies and signals in.

Now is this to just tint the circle around where the fog would project from?
I'm interested in preserving the beam strength, but want the surrounding part of the lens near black to match the dummies.

PLEASE find a pic or two. I'd really like to try this, rather than spending the approx. $300 to buy a set. Thanks!

Yes but both the smoked and the yellow are EUROSPEC, there have been some talk about EURO fogs in NA bumpers...
