Okay all, my dad wanted me to post a problem on here he is having w/ the beetle. the battery is wearing down on the Key...and he wanted to know if he HAS to take it into a stealership to have it replaced, or is there a way that he can replace the battery himself?---is there anyway!!??? thanks!

EASY!!! F*&% the stealership

. Flip the key open.....look inside where the key was locked in....you will see a space where a flat screwdriver will fit... put a flat screwdriver in it and twist it to pry the two seperate halves apart......the key section will move free of the remote section...the remote section contains the battery (a CR2032 3V)....poke on the inside edge with the screwdriver...you will notice right in the middle it has a rubber gasket, pry it open from there and just seperate the two halves with your fingers...you should see the battery now...push on one corner of the battery and it will bend upwards on one side so you can flick it off...not very hard once you do it. Assembly is the reverse.
