...for the MkIV VR6? I've got a '00 Jetta GLX and I've been looking to get this exhaust (probably 2.25in). Please share your experiences. Thanks!

You can definetly feel a difference up top. Probably work 5 or so hp.
Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (Bundaho)

FYI- Don't have one but the guy at techtonics didn't hesitate when asked; "eight"... and tested. All the local vw mechanics around here also recommend them... but a Milltek is on the way. Good luck.

I love my TT exhaust....
Simple, lightweight, lifetime warranty.
Cant beat that.
Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (Mackie-1604)

Would it be necessary for me to buy a 4-motion valence to fit the TT exhaust? If it's not necessary, is it recommended? I am also putting in Eibach Pro springs for about a 1.2-1.5in drop. Am I going to have to worry about the exhaust hitting the ground at all?

And is 5, or even 8hp worth $400+???

Yes, and dont forget about that cool sound you will get.

True, the sound is tempting...
I'm just trying to decide on the best thing to do with my tax return. And that would be: struts, exhaust, or chip. Someone posted a DIY CAI install so that's why I'm no longer considering getting a AEM.

Oh well if you put it like that, Get the chip. My friend has a 95 VR6 and bought the cat back TT exhaust 4 months ago and is just now getting his GIAC chip next week. He wishes he would have done them in reverse.

if you do the supercharger in your sig. you will definitely gain from a 2.5" exhaust and it comes with it's own filter element.
if you don't i would chip it.
there is so much body roll from the vr6, much more than the 1.8t or 2.0 i would definitely do shocks and springs.
if you only want the sound of the exhaust you can cut out your suit case muffler.

The SC is only for the 2.0 engine. I've got springs, but I'm thinking of waiting for shocks until spring, when there's no snow on the ground. Now, what was that last part about a suit case?

It's the resonator (or mid-muffler) that is behind the cat, but before your muffler. You can get a TDI mid pipe which comes w/o the suitcase. I just took mine to a shop, had them cut it out and weld in a piece of pipe. (cost $20) With the stock muffler, the VR6 sounds rougher/meaner/more obnoxious... almost like a motorcycle or something. Not deep enough for me though... I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with it.

my bad! i was thinking of the new z engineering super charger, i did not pay attention well enough, i guess it's wishful thinking about FI...
look under your car, the stock exhaust has a big resonator called a "suitcase" sometimes...

Does anyone have any soundclips? I want a deep rumble, but not a high-pitched wheezing like some motorcycles put out.

You got mail.
Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (Bundaho)

ok now i'm TT experienced,
i've posted this a few times but,
the TT 2.5" ss exhaust gave me the BEST seat of the pants power gains of all the exhaust i've tried.
i drove it back to back with the milltek 2.5" exhaust on my car and the TT had more power, and i personally love the sound.
i've had on my car the neuspeed, neuspeed rmoved resonator, the 2.75" milltek, the 2.5" milltek. the tt with hidden tips
(loud drone), and now the TT with custom straight through dtm tip (drones gone) and 4 motion valence...

i am finally satisfied! for now.

Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (c1gti)

Any pics? I want to see what the tip looks like. Did you have any problem fitting it through the 4-mo valence? I heard some exhausts have to be moved to the side more to come out of the valence opening.
Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (Meats00GLX)

I have the tt exhaust and the 4 motion valence and it is worth every penny i can promise you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Any HP increase from the Techtonics exhaust? (00boravr6)

i have got the TT 2.5 SS on my VR6, i cant say i feel more power because the sound is so dramatically different that it messes with your senses but it does sound perfect, love it, and its not too loud at highway speeds too. for pics of my exhaust click on the sig. ive got the dual DTM tips without the 4-motion valance.
