Following bc im curious. Those dont look factory to me. Is the car modified at all? If it were me, id start disassembling things to chase the wires. Id start at the overhead console to see if they terminate up there (maybe homelink addition like stated above?), then try peeking behind the A-pillars to see if there is any wiring out of place. Start snooping!

Those are the oil leak, turbo failure and water pump failure buttons. These events are too important to be left to chance.

They should probably put covers over those so people don't press them accidentally.

I thought I might get these responses because I was quite surprised to see them. My guess was Homelink but I know that is not factory. I also am aware of the Apex Homelink button by the gear shifter, but does anyone aware of Homelink buttons installed up top? There are no lights illuminating when pressed so not sure how you would program Homelink without a lot of guessing.

Does the MK7.5 have same exact buttons? (you mention Onstar type)

They're not OEM, so without taking it apart or contacting the original owner, I don't think you'll ever know.

They could have been installed for a hardwired radar detector. They're illegal in Ontario and other provinces, so people will try to bury the detector in the car, put remote sensors in the grille, and add factory looking buttons somewhere in the interior.

Huh. On the 7.5 they are the VW’s OnStar service - emergency, etc. not sure if the 7 had them. They don’t look OEM. Maybe aftermarket?
Gotta be aftermarket add-on for something. There's no way that an "emergency" button would not be labelled from the factory because people either wouldn't know to press it in an emergency or they would go "hey what does this do?" and press it in a false emergency situation.

Just also odd no one has seen it before. As most stuff has been covered here at some point. It also amazes me how factory perfect it is, which makes me think you must be able to buy it somewhere.
Could be something somebody retrofitted from another VAG car.

This belonged to a friend.

The left button is to enable the turbo encabulator function.

Middle ejecto seato Cuh

Right disables cy 2 & 3 for better fuel economy.

Keep us updated. Curious. Thanks!
My 2017 Alltrack has the emergency buttons in that location. Are there underbody or footwell lights? Or wiring from where they used to be?
