Re: any1 grinding gears w/Dieselgeek SS? (Marty)

None here, and I have had it on the car for quite sometime now...
Did you take the time to adjust all of the linkage correctly during the install? I know when I did mine that adjusting it and then driving around then adjusting it a bit more then driving around again took longer than the install itself, now that it is all set I have never had one problem. Great shifter. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

i had a small problem going from reverse to 1st and also getting it into first. Do what the http://www.dieselgeek.com site tells you to do and call him. I did and he sent me a new shifter out right away, didn't even worry about me returning the old one first. Very good customer servicehttp://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

No grinding.
It is a bit notchy now though, just needs re-adjusting now that everything is broken in.

Re: any1 grinding gears w/Dieselgeek SS? (SLC4EVER)

<devil's advocate/> These responses are not from mkIV owners... I had a '95 that NEVER had any grinding issues. I'm now driving a '00 gti glx w/ the dieselGeek s.s. kit and still get grinding on really quick shifts. Yes, I did adjust my cable linkages and I do press the clutch in all the way and this is the 4th car I've owned w/ a std. tranny so no smartass comments please.. </devil's advocate>. I still suggest the dieselgeek highly..

i'm really debating this...i had lots of slop, but brian (BLACKVR) hooked me up w/a quick adjustment and I am amazed at how tight it is now...
Can I go wrong ?
