IMHO it looks good on darker cars.
reds and lighter look better with anthracite wheels.
I did my windsor blue MKIII with body matched wheels and got lots of compliments. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I've got an alpine white Jetta 8V with white 17" Motegi MR7's, and it looks great. It just matters what color your car is, not every color looks good with matching wheels.
