I was going to do the ABA half-swap,but since I was convinced to part with my block(for a good price),and was able to pick up a comp. '88 Audi 80 motor with only 100K for $100(runs GREAT too, even better than when the ABA was running),I am going the 3A route instead. It looks like I will have to buy much less parts, and make less mods with the 3A than ABA.And yes, even though it may not make as much power than the ABA motor,it is still a 2.0L. So, has anybody done this swap;and if so,please give me your info & breakdown on the install.I had a few other ideas on this swap as well;tell me what you think about these: 1)installing the COMPLETE motor;switching the F/I to drivers' side 2) installing the COMPLETE motor, but adapting the I/M with hose & pipe,to keep F/I on pass. side(
) A) with either 1 or 2,fitting the comp. harness from the Audi 80 in my car to take advantage of the CIS-Motronic (
) or....3) screw all that, just use the 3A block. Will I need a different oil pan & oil pump to do this job??( I heard about that somewhere)I already have the ign. dist. from the 80,so I'm all set there. What else will I need to do?? I really apreciate your advice on this, and on previous requests i made,as I was sure about doing the ABA job,now my plans have changed.THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
