Ever since I bought my GTI, I decided to keep an eye on how much money went where. I don't worry about how much it is as long as it's documented. I never have done this with ANY other vehicle. I'm keeping a similar log of my Club Rabbit project on its web site, under Budget... So far, I'm just parting the car out of all the stuff I don't need, so it's looking pretty good so far. Once I building it, rather than tearing it appart, things will change. I'm not counting things like gas spent to go pick up parts and stuff like that. It'll be interesting to see what it comes out to.

so you have only washed your car twice????
seems as though you should have gotten yourself a loan for $4553.66.
i don't...but that's only because i truely don't want to think about how much i have spent! however, i can assure yyou that it was more than that! plus i wash my bunny at least once a week.

I keep a Maintenance Log on the race Wabbit but I don't record the cost of race parts as this activity would scare the hell of me. The cost of racing is a deep wabbit hole, WWR.

It's original faded paint. It doesn't look better if it's clean or dirty. I only wash it because I can't see out the windows.
That's HP at the wheels. It's a stock motor but has the MSD and full TT exhaust. I know I could have done better if my airfilter had been cleaned. When I cleaned the K&N today I couldn't see through it looking into the sun. After I cleaned it the car idles better, revs faster and pulls stronger I should have cleaned it long ago.
The rabbit wouldn't have gotten this much stuff but I parted out my drag racing bug and the rabbit got the procedes

same here. goes from stock motor w/ bolt ons- to 16v motor w/ boltons- to the full blown 16v turbo. I have the 16v turbo setup all done on computer. The rest is reciepts.
When i 1st bought the car, i use to keep gas records/oil records too! like everytime i put gas in, what was the date, how many gallons, grade fuel, price- but i grew tired of that after a yr....
so yes, im anal on records too.
I wish i could find the previous owner of my car though, that would make it all better
