My jetta squeeks like hell from the doors, or near the doors, also the fan taht blows the air around the car squeeks, how can i fix this stuff. How do i get at that damn fan? someone post some advice please.
you learn to live with it.... also the doors are somewhat fixable... cant remember exactly what i used but it is like a black glue, that is not permanant
keeps the door panel from rubbing..........
other than that just bump it!
Re: anyone else notice alot of squeeks and rattles from their mk3 (97_Veedub_gti)
Im glad eveyone has come to terms with their squeeks. I'm working on it. The one that I know I cant live with is the fan. It squeeks on speed two or one. my favorite speeds. How can i get at the fan. I know its by the glove box. has anyone ever messed with theirs and could tell me how to get at it?
Re: anyone else notice alot of squeeks and rattles from their mk3 (SLC'98VR6)
anyone ever notice that they don't squeak much at all above 70 mph though? could be the shorter ride motions/quicker impacts. at city speed the doors groan and creak like mad on unlevel surfaces (i attribute that to the bike rack, which the doors shut against).
my solution to some of the squeaks was to trace weatherstripping along the edge of the door cards where they make contact w/ the metal. made 'em fit just a little tighter. ...sorta worked.
...never had a fan squeak though. good luck
