Wondering if anyone here has actually had one of these subs.

Phase was very famous in the '70s for Pro amplifiers [19" rack mounted P.A. System-type stuff]. I haven't followed their Corporate development, but it appears that they branched out some [perhaps the Company got sold, etc.].
No insights here on their Subs, except that I would keep anyone with a pacemaker or surgically-implanted body metal away from that damned magnet... It looks like it would suck metal right out of you!
Hats off to their Industrial Design Engineer; a pretty macho looking speaker.

..and just look at the pretty dovetailed box it comes in!

Looks kinda expensive to me..

Looks like it belongs on the Space Shuttle

I was reading a reference book on Car Audio yesterday for another reason than Subs, and the Author's references said to see "Recoton" for Phase Linear. Sho nuff, see the Aliante 12" Sub pictured above linked to the German Phase Linear site from the Phase Linear sub-section of the Recoton Website here:

What could be better for a German Auto than a nicely-Engineered German Sub?
