Anyone ever removed the rain gutters?

Those horrible black rubber things along the edge of the roof and windscreen.
I want pics of a Mk2 with them totally smoothed over, if it's ever been done...
PS'd will do if anyone's 'that' good with it. Even better if you do it on my car (check the sig for links to pics)
Cheers

It would be a huge job to smoth those over. Those gutters sit in channel. If I had my car I would take a picture for you of what it looks like with them removed. My advice is, if theyre in bad shape just replace them. They aren't cheap, but trying to smooth those would probably cost much, much more.

I know exactly what's underneath them, I've had a full repray before and I stripped/rebuilt the car myself.
I was just curious as to what it'd look like with them filled.

Gotcha
.
Duffman, the moldings are pressed onto the clips in the channel. The clips are cheap, its the molding you dont want to tweak so just be careful. Its straightforward, but a pain in the butt to do.
They're not cheap. I bought a pair at the dealer recently.

when you put used ones back on another car buy new white clips from the dealer. Replace all your old clips and the start in the front (by the fender), and work your way to the back pressing the moulding down. There is a little lip on it that you want to make sure does not get caught.
When taking them off a car I start in the back (by the hatch) using two flathead screw drivers to pry with.
I may only pull about three inches of trim up at a time before moving the screwdrivers forward so I don't bend the metal strips inside the things...Slow and steady wins the race with those stinking mouldings....
