I had something going but finding sponcers for show purposes isn't easy. I'll be willing to help out in anyway I can. I live in Shelburne. There's somebody with a nice 91 red 2.0 8v conversion who lives in VT. We talked in CT about starting a club. I'll see if I can find him. I think it's GTiman91 or something like that.

there already is a VT VW club...search yahoo clubs for one, there was a group drive in march or sometime last year...GTIVR4 (i think thats his SN) has a website for it as well, though I think the VT VW club is kinda on the backburner right now...

There defiantly was somethings that were going on this past spring in regards to at VW club not sure what happened with it. I see this club as being low key, just something for the local (Vt/New England) people to get together and have some fun, get to know other VW nuts etc, take some drives. Let me know what people are thinking and where people are at. E-mail me [email protected]

Hey- I think you are talking about me.
I am still around- have a few new things going if you can't tell by the profile. I've had a few VW projects come and go- some are in the process of going and coming still. So you wanna do a club? I'm in for a VT VW/Audi club of some sort. I know a few other local VW people that would be interested. We have been in contact with the Club H20 people out of Montreal- done a few drives up that way to meet at Orange Julep. Its some good fun. So- lets do this. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (brinskan)

Hey guys. Yeah, I had talked about doing this last year. Started putting together a web site even... http://www.pkadev.com/cm/vtvw
Why don't we see how many people we can get together for a meeting/gethering and go from there?
I also setup a group on yahoo groups, has about 15 users I think, but went dormant pretty quick. Lets revise it! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vtvw
Add your name!

I was all kinds of interested till you guys decided to make it a VW only club. I don't own a VW anymore, and it was made clear that Audis are not VWs...

When did we do that? I think I had said that it would be a primarily VW club, but that Audis would be more than welcome. We are such a small area that anyone with an interest in VWs should be welcomed. Whether you drive a VW, an Audi or a BMW or Honda. As long as you have an interest.

Hey i'll be back up in Burlington in two weeks... anyone wanna meet up
Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (brinskan)

Killington tomorrow (sunday), black '87 16V rocco.
That would be a good GTG at like at killington or stowe.
Hey all VTers you know those bumper stickers that say "bring back Vt" whats that mean? Me and a couple friends saw a bunch of them and were wondering.
Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (pastpargolf)

Ha, well i think you mean "take back Vermont" It all has to do with Gov. Dean and how he passed the very controvesial bill into law about civil unions about two years ago i think......not positive about the time frame tho. It pissed off alot of people, it was pretty gay..........literaly.....i don't really care tho, they can do what they want, so long as they don't involve me. Then you got the other side the "keep it civil" those people like it, so its not just a coincidence that those bumper stickers acompany the rainbow ones. This is one thing Vermont did NOT need to be the first to do.
Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (IronGTi)

Yep, the Civil Union issue is really touchy up here.. Hell, the TV show Will and Grace even made mention of it, more than once I might add. My only beef with it, why did VT have to be the ONLY state to do it? I thought Hawaii did gay 'marriage' but not sure (not that there is anything wrong with that...)
Now, back to topic.. Nathan, I distinctly remember someone saying something to the effect of the VTVW club being just that, a VT VW club.. I don't want to be the guy that they let in just because. Although, I am looking for an excuse to buy Trevor Nuttall's Rallye Golf, but this is not enough of a reason...yet... Perhaps I am being overly sensitive.. Hey dolomite, sell my your Corrado, so I can join with the correct brand of car! (kidding Nathan!!) I would be happy to be part of GTGs and such. Let's keep the VTVW yahoo list up and running. It's a great way to stay in touch!
Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (Radonut)

In regards to a GTG, Andy from Up (who was at the GTG in Richmond last year) and I were talking on Vortex, and he would like to have another GTG up here early spring time (enjoy the nice cold weather for the 1.8Ters) and do some chipping and all that fun stuff. I think it would be great as I am looking to get chipped and I am more that will to have the GTG here at my pad in Williston! getting a feeler as to how many peeps would be interested I know it's a ways a way but I can dream right

Re: Anyone from the vermont area that would be interested in starting a club (1.8Tvermonter)

I think the VTVW started well off (even though i wasnt able to attend the first (and only?) gtg for the rt 17 drive....we should take advantage of the spring to fall time cuz i think it was when late fall/winter hit that the yahoo group just totally died. I think the yahoo group thing is nice, but keeping stuff here on the vortex would probably reach more people...agree? disagree?

Id be very interested in a group drive over rt 17 again come late march or later? when was the rt 17 drive last year? (when i'll be back from california)
kris- bout the rado-fat chance!
heheh..
i think a VW only (if that was ever implied) wouldnt be the greatest choice for a begining car club, espeicially in vermont...i know theyre some vws id really like to check out (like that vr6 a2 gli in colchester) but how many enthusiast vws do you see in the average month? like 1 or 2...id be happy with a VAG, european car, or hell, just anyone who is a driving enthusiast to be in this vt car club
what other kind of activities would you guys be interested in besides drives? auto-xes? rally-xes? I know im very itchy to start building a rally-x car this summer, maybe the club could do a group project?

hey kris- are you related to a guy named kirby hansen? I hear he builds rabbit race cars or something? drives a really nice 944t?
