Anyone from Vic. BC here?

480 Views 9 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  jon_w88
I'm trying to find a few people in BC to discuss VW's in gen. I'm looking for connections, advice and a few parts. I assume the more people you know the better it is. Basically I'm looking for a few new friends. There's not too many 30 year old guys out there interested in VW's.
I'm also looking for someone who would like to or knows of someone who wants to sell their 14/15" mag wheels, either stock or aftermarket. I'm also looking for a few parts from an 80-84 rabbit gti, or cabrio, or a2 golf. I need panels, center console, tailights, seats, trunk carpet, etc...
I live in Campbell River, but make it to Vic often. E-mail or simply reply. Frank

I grew up in BC as a kid! Beautiful country out there, and unlike the US, the pedestrians have the right of way!! It was totally unbelievable how, on the main street from Richmond to Vancouver, traffic during rush hour would actually stop, completely, if someone was try to cross the road.
That would never happen here in Nebraska, unless it's in your own residential neighborhood, and it's a mom or some children. Being in Canada is like living in the 40's or 50's...everything is peaceful, friendly, and innocent. You never have to look over your shoulder! Surreal.
I digress. Anyhow, I don't recall exactly, but I'm almost sure there's a VW BC enthusiast club, and a place which used to be called Ron's Parts or RPI might be able to help point you in the right direction. They're well known for all the custom VW's they create. I think they're in Burnaby (?), but you'll have to double check.
Good luck, aye!

Beenana,
Naw
I was up there last year man, and literally, people were stopping for pedestrians during rush hour. Very polite

All in all...Canada is great country to live in, ahem, except for the taxes

PS - that drive up to Whistler rocks, but too bad I had to take it in a rented minivan and not my Raddo...ever taken that route? Try it!

I live in Victoria. (Just moved here a few months back) Just got a corrado ('91 G60) after having a rabbit for a year and a half. Anyone else from Vic know a good place to get parts? I need a new passanger door handle.
