Totally! I've been thinking about doing this for a while now. The plastic/fake wood probably wouldn't hold paint too well, so it would be especially cool if one could purchase metal interior trim parts to paint the body color.

do you kwow where to get it?

pgperformance has two 'aluminum' trim kits:

I don't know if they're actually metal or just metal-looking plastic, but a bunch of people on the vortex have them.
How were you planning on painting the trim pieces?

go to wetwerks.com or it might be wetworks.com.....anywho....poeople know them...

wetworksgarage.com has pics of their work on some eclipses and an integra. It's pretty wild stuff: http://wetworksgarage.com/Products/painted_interior.htm
It seems that they've applied paint and clear coat to all kinds of materials, so I assume that a body shop could paint/coat a square foot or two of plastic interior trim w/o much difficulty.
