Anyone have any info on the BFGoodrich Winter Slalom?

I can get the BFGoodrich Winter Slalom with or without studs at my local Costco for $76 (in 205/55/16).
That is a good price I think. But I'd like to hear from anyone with any thoughts on the tire or other good candidates.
We tend to get more freezing rain than snow and we really don't get much of either but I have burned up my Michelin Pilots so even a light dusting is dangerous.

Thanks for the reply - how do you like the Kuhmo's? I really like my Michelins but after only 15K miles they are gone - I read a number of reviews on Tire Rack and it sounds like a number of XGT H4 owners have tended to get what I consider to be very low mileage out of the tires.
