I do. I got rid of the beige mats within the first month of ownership. The beige mats get dirty real fast and look like crud afterwards. I got the OE black mats instead which echo the black dash and upper door panels.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided to do this, too. I've only had the car for 2 months and already the carpets look like crap, even after being shaken out & vaccumed. I haven't seen the black floor mats but at this point I don't think I'd even care if it didn't match perfectly... but like SW said it should match the black dash OK.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided to do this, too. I've only had the car for 2 months and already the carpets look like crap, even after being shaken out & vaccumed. I haven't seen the black floor mats but at this point I don't think I'd even care if it didn't match perfectly... but like SW said it should match the black dash OK.

From these posts, I can't figure out if people are getting black carpet mats as replacements or not. I agree with everyone that the beige carpet mats are horrible. I got tired of cleaning them all the time, so I cleaned them one more time to get them looking nice and stuck them in the basement.
I got the factory black rubber floor mats. They are great. They have an upturned lip at the edges that keeps water in the center of them so you can carefully pull them out and dump them. Also they utilize the same posts to keep them in place. It's money well spent.

I just ordered myself some new regular VW black rubber mats from http://www.drewparts.com/ , along with a trunk liner for my 2001.5. I got the mats for the impending winter, and in the meantime I'll be checking out replacement carpet mats. It's possible I'll just stick with the rubber mats year-round.

My only comment is that with the black (carpet) mats, having "passat" embroidered in beige may tie it together a little better than "pure" (what I have).
N.B.: I love this combo. My better half hates the look. YMMV.

Looks great in these pictures.
Just a question about the beige interior. When I saw a few beige interior cars at the dealer, they actually looked very yellowish rather than beige or tan. Did VW change the shade of beige, was it just a bad batch, or the colors in the picutre aren't exactly accurate?

I just ordered the VW Monster matts in black (any color you want, as long as it's black), and I have a Beige interior... if this thread can be found... I'll post a pic... I've seen it before, and it actually looks pretty good.

AV: they changed the tan collor to more of a "butterscotch" with the B5.5. The most accurate color match is the underside of the dash, first pic.
