Anyone have experience with the "comfort system" control unit?

Basically, what I want to do is control unlocking the trunk from the regular "unlock button" on the door panel instead of from the cubby down below.
Ive sourced the parts & wiring to relocate the fuel filler door switch to the center console, but havent figured out how to eliminate the need for a seperate trunk lock switch.
any ideas?
while im at it, what would be involved in deleting that "trunk relock" feature so that it stay unlocked once I unlock everything? I hate that feature!

quote:

Why would you want to completely reroute your wires like that? We are talking about less than like 6 inches of difference in reach not to mention losing the functionality of your other doors.. To each their own I suppose but it seems like a lot of hassle for something that wouldn't be that better.

i's not the 6 inches of reach im just trying to eliminate. i prefer the fuel tank release in the euro location (set into the plastic center console by the brake handle) and in so doing might as well eliminate the other switch down in the map pocket and be done with it. if i can get the unlock button above to unlock EVERYTHING at once and leave everything unlocked until i lock them myself, that would be great. It would be better for me. besides, every european brochure ive seen shows no switches down in the map pocket, so I suspect they already do this in europe... not too great a stretch of the imagination...
any suggestions?

Romnkar-
I have noticed that the trunk release circuit goes to pin 3 of the "comfort module" which then seems to go to the trunk lock (and probably contains that "re-close if no opened in time" feature. Is there a way of just running this wire from where it is (on the trunk switch up above to the general unlock button? or maybe its a programmable feature in the ECU? adding a relay seems more like the normal "old way" of doing this, but im hoping that it's not as complicated physically as it is a question of programming or something?
know what i mean?
thanks for your help
Joe

thanks for your advice...
im still hoping against hope that there's some "silver bullet" fix to do this without having to mount the relay...I noticed that early introduction jetta wagons had no trunk release switch and the gas tank flap release mounted by the handbrake.... anyone know how they were wired?

im actively looking into this...
im hoping to upgrade to colour concept blue/black door panels, and would rather not poke holes in them for that little switch pod in the map pocket if i can relocate those functions as they do in europe.
i dont have a vag com, but will get one soon... im hoping this might just be a wiring sleight of hand trick
