I'm curious to know what the engine cover looks like on the Mercedes Minivan sold in Europe only. I've seen a pic of the van but no engine shots. I've read like others here, that the engine is a VW VR6.

You must be talking about the L-class minivans - the really awkward looking ones. They don't have VR6's in them, never was an option. This was a big hoax formulated awhile back with a little photoshop expertise, just like the lumber on the back of the Jetta. Mercedes has always developed its own powerplants for this vehicle.

Nope, talking about the V-klasse V 280

The specs read like a VR6, 10.1:1 cr. 24v 204hp.
Granted, the pic above is the new updated body and styling, but the old one had a 12v head.
Maybe Roger Moore in Bamburg can snap some pics and post them.
