Re: Anyone have pictures of Santa Monica 17" wheels???? (Deception)

Yes, this was the subject of a heated discussion in the Wheels and Tires classified. Seems like there already is another wheel called Monte Carlo in Europe that's used on Polos, Lupos, etc.
I have the wheels, and I think they're great!

That cant be true.....The Monte Carlos dont look good at all on the Jetta....It should only be available on the GTi.....keep the long beach wheels or give us a completely different wheel on the Jetta...NOOOO

quote:

In Europe the rims are called Santa Monica but in North America they are called Monte Carl

So why would they call the GTI Monte Carlo wheels a different name on the Jetta?? Somthing here dont jive......I think the Santa Monica wheels will be something completely different than the Monte Carlos...More than likely a different style wheel..
Peace

Am I on crack....? That doesn't make sense... Jettas don't get the Monte Carlo wheels they get the Long Beach wheels.
Monte Carlo = Santa Monica I asked the same question a few months back. I'm looking at the Canadian GTI pricing sheet... 17" Alloy Wheels, code PJA and these are them:

confusion...

Jetta = Long Beach
NA GTI = Monte Carlo
Euro GTI = Santa Monica
MC/SMs are in the pictures already posted in this thread, Long Beach's are different.

Do you still have the stock tires on your car? If so, have you driven it in any snow? It's gonna be an issue here in Denver sooner or later, and I'm a tad concerned about their performance.
Thanks!

RoughDobermann,
I still have the stock tires on (Michelin MXM4s or something like that...), but I haven't driven them at all in the snow yet. They're great in the rain, though.

Tugz_VR6, here are some pictures of the wheels, and their names. The Jetta and GTI do not share the same wheel.
Check the MK4 wheel database like David said for further info.
